About

About Granola.cat

An independent guide to granola in Catalonia: who makes it, what goes into it and where to find it, recorded with its sources.

Granola.cat is an independent guide to granola, centred on Catalonia, with selected makers and products from elsewhere in Spain. It records who makes a granola, what its label says, and where it can be bought, eaten or found, together with the sources behind each fact and the date they were checked.

What you’ll find here

  • Granolas: packs, house granolas and dishes, each with the ingredients, allergens and nutrition its sources publish, and nothing they don’t.
  • Brands and makers: who is behind a granola, keeping the brand, the business responsible for it and the actual producer apart.
  • Where to find it: shops, cafés, chains and online shops, as leads with the source that names them and what that source does and doesn’t establish.
  • Guides and news: explanations of how granola is made, labelled and eaten, and dated reports on our research.

What we don’t do

We don’t publish prices, stock levels, ratings or reviews, and we don’t rank granolas against each other. No business has paid to appear on Granola.cat, and appearing here isn’t an endorsement. Where a source doesn’t establish a fact, the page says it is unknown rather than guessing.

Nothing on this site is medical or dietary advice. If you have an allergy or an intolerance, the pack, the shop or the kitchen is the authority, not us.

Languages

Granola.cat is published in Spanish, Catalan and English. Pages are drafted in English and translated. Catalogue records may appear in a machine translation before they’re reviewed, and those pages say so and link the English version. Guides, news and pages like this one are published in a language only once a person has reviewed that translation.

Statistics and privacy

We count visits with Plausible Analytics, so we know which pages are read and what is worth improving. It sets no cookies, leaves nothing in your browser, and doesn’t store your IP address or anything else that identifies you, so it can’t follow you from one day to the next or across other sites. We see only totals: pages viewed, the site you came from, country, browser and device type, and a few actions, such as following a link to a shop or a maker, changing language, filtering the catalogue, comparing granolas or searching. For searches we record how many results there were, never what you typed. The data is processed and stored in the European Union. Plausible’s data policy explains how it works.

Authorship and editorial responsibility

Granola.cat is edited by Denis, who decides what is published and is responsible for it. Articles are signed by Granola.cat.

Research and drafting are done with Claude, an AI assistant made by Anthropic, working under the editor’s direction: it finds and fetches sources, records what they say and drafts text and translations. The editor reviews what is published, and every fact on the site cites the source it comes from, so you can check it yourself.

The methodology page explains how sources are gathered and checked, how evidence is labelled, and how to send a correction.

A note from your keeper

A listing is a lead, not a promise of stock.

Why the careful wording?

We record what a source establishes and when it was checked. A producer’s stockist list does not confirm today’s inventory. Ask the shop about recipes and pack sizes before you visit.

Nutrition panels can only be compared when their measurement bases match.
